Liberty Baptist Church: A Beacon of Light in Sin City

Las Vegas, NV – The Church Finds Its Voice (CFIV) proudly highlights Liberty Baptist Church and Pastor Matthew Teis as they illuminate their community through faith and service.
Matthew Teis, executive pastor of Liberty Baptist Church and sheriff chaplain for the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, has engaged in his community in tremendous ways, inspiring us to do the same.
Here are some of the ways he has exemplified outstanding stewardship:
Citizen of the Month:
Pastor Matthew Teis was honored as the Citizen of the Month for the City of Las Vegas in December 2023. This award recognizes individuals who demonstrate exceptional and consistent dedication to improving the Las Vegas Valley. Pastor Matt received this honor for his many years of impactful service and commitment to making a difference in their community.
Christmas Experience:
The Christmas Experience is an annual event, held in partnership with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, that unites the local community during the festive season. This free event offers attendees the chance to play holiday games, climb rock walls, meet local first responders, and enjoy a Christmas story walk-through. Additionally, over 150 fresh-cut Christmas trees are given away. The event attracts over 2,000 people to the Liberty Baptist Church campus each year.
Jonathan Pinson, the CFIV mission director, says, "I'm inspired by Pastor Matt's transformative leadership at Liberty Baptist Church in Las Vegas, NV. His dedication to community empowerment sets a profound example for pastors nationwide."
Liberty Baptist Church collaborates with more community programs through their nonprofit, Liberty's Hope.
Governor’s Prayer Breakfast:
On May 2, 2024, the National Day of Prayer, Liberty’s Hope hosted in the inaugural Governor's Prayer Breakfast. This event brought together faith leaders from across the state to unite in prayer for Nevada and the nation.
